WHAT'S THE RSVP DEADLINE?
you will receive your invitation this winter; we ask you kindly reply by march first.
CAN I BRING A DATE?
if we've planned for you to bring a guest, it will be noted on your invitation. if you have a significant other we aren't aware of, please feel comfortable reaching out to us.
ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?
yes, at all events except our afterparty. we'll have childcare support available on site for our ceremony and reception - see your RSVP for details.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
we are excited to celebrate a dreamy and elevated evening with all of our loved ones. our dress code is black tie preferred - gentlemen are encouraged to wear tuxedos and ladies formal, floor length attire. dark suits and eveningwear are also welcome, as are bright colors and creative formalwear that emanate elegance.
HOW CLOSE ARE THE VENUES? HOW DO I GET BETWEEN THEM?
our ceremony and reception will both take place at supply house in the navy yard neighborhood, walkable to a number of hotels where we will offer room blocks.
other events including our welcome party, afterparty, and farewell brunch will be in the logan circle neighborhood. logan circle is centrally located in downtown dc, and is accessible via a 15-minute uber/lyft ride from navy yard. public transit via the washington metro system is also easily accessible - we recommend the green line connecting from navy yard/ballpark to mt. vernon/convention center.
we will offer a shuttle service our wedding reception to our afterparty in logan circle. all other transit will be at guests' discretion. ubers/lyfts are very easy to find in all areas.
please take note the nfl draft will be taking place in washington, dc the weekend of our wedding. in particular, anticipate travel delays and potential road closures on friday. we encourage guests to plan for extra travel time, and to explore public transit options.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?
we encourage you to arrive by five to enjoy a beverage and find a seat before our ceremony begins promptly at five-thirty.
WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
dc's spring weather can be unpredictable. days should be beautiful with highs in the mid-70s, though could reach the low 90s. nights cool down to around 60. rain is possible, but likely to be short-lived.
IS THE WEDDING OUTDOORS?
our wedding and reception will take place indoors. outdoor space will be available as part of our cocktail hour and evening reception. there will be a separate outdoor plaza area for cigars.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
we have an on-site rain plan and all events will proceed as scheduled. no umbrellas needed.
ARE NAVY YARD AND LOGAN CIRCLE SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS?
yes, both navy yard and logan circle are central, safe, and well-maintained neighborhood in DC. that said, it is downtown! sirens and police activity are very normal in both areas during weekend evenings. in the navy yard area, youth activity can be boisterous, and there is a curfew in place for under 18s on weekends. in logan circle, 14th street can also be very active, and there is a small homeless population in the area. in both areas, incidents are extremely rare - if anything feels uncomfortable, just keep moving. finally, we recommend you avoid discussing any political views while in our neighborhoods.
